The Big Bad Bruins?
Bruins Goal: Win a Playoff Series
It has been a roller coaster of a regular season for the Boston Bruins. After coming off of a season where the B’s finished with the best record in NHL history, but a first round exit to the Panthers, no one knew what the team would like the next season. Patrice Bergeron retires, David Krejci retires, Tyler Bertuzzi leaves, Dmitry Orlov leaves, and many others leave as well. Even with the players that the Bruins lost in the offseason, the B’s still had David Pastrnak, Charlie McAvoy, Brad Marchand, along with a good defense and a solid first and second line. There are some pieces that need to be upgraded but with how the roster was constructed, the expectation was to make the playoffs as middle of the pack team. Was This Offseason Enough for the Postseason?
Last year was a historical season that went to waste. The most points and wins ever in a single season by an NHL team. Bruins fans thought, who could stop us? Well, the Florida Panthers made a remarkable comeback from being down 3-1 against the B’s to knock them out 4-3 in the first round. Every Bruins fan wanted the cup desperately. This was their best opportunity since 2019 and they blew it yet again. Read our thoughts on the Bruins offseason and what we expect from the B's this Centennial season!
Thank You David Krejci
Sometimes in sports, the most important part about being a teammate is how you are willing to sacrifice. What are you willing to do in order for the team to reach the top? Are you ok with being off of the 1st line in order to help make the 2nd line better? David Krejci was a player that any team wishes they could have. Read More as we honor David Krejci's 16-year NHL career with the Boston Bruins!
Thank You Patrice Bergeron
In the second round of the 2003 NHL Draft, the Boston Bruins selected Patrice Bergeron with the 45th pick. The Bruins took a chance on the center from Canada, and to keep it short it worked out. On the ice and off the ice, Bergeron turned into one of the faces of the Bruins franchise. He was a fan favorite to many fans here in Boston. Bergeron has quite the resume that will be remembered in Boston sports history. Countless amounts of memories from fans at the TD Garden along with heartfelt memories from people in the community. The Biggest Choke in NHL History
By the end of December, the Bruins were the best team in the NHL at a record of 28-4-4 at 60 points. Boston only lost 3 games at home at this point. All of those home losses were in overtime. Fast forward to the trade deadline and Boston was still on a record pace season, and still the best team in the NHL. The regular season ends, and the Boston Bruins made history. The Bruins set the record for most wins in a single season, and the most points in the single season. But then would get eliminated in the first round by the Panthers. Read More on what happened in the 2022-23 season and what needs to be done in order to get back to Stanley Cup Champions.
The Bruins Are on Fire
If you were to say at the beginning of the season that the Boston Bruins even without Brad Marchand, Charlie McAvoy, Matt Grzelcyk, and with a new head coach that the Bruins would start off as the best team in the NHL, people would think that you are out of your mind. However, that is now a reality. Not only are the Boston Bruins the best team in the NHL right now, but they have also had the best start in Boston Bruins history. Fools Gold
There is only one way that you could describe the Bruins 21-22 season. That is “Fool's Gold”. With the moves that the Bruins made in the offseason you would have thought that the B’s were a top team in the Eastern Conference. It seemed like the Bruins were getting better while other teams got worse. Especially after the season that the Bruins had the year before, you would have expected them to have another deep run the following season. Read more on the Bruins 2021-2022 season review.
How Are the B's?
The 2021-2022 NHL season has been a roller coaster. In the middle of December, the NHL decided to put a halt on the season for a couple weeks in spite of the rise in cases. The Bruins is set to play their first game tomorrow against the Buffalo Sabres. How have the B’s done to this point?
The Return of the Big Bad Bruins?
Off to a red hot start, the Boston Bruins have jumped out to a division best 24 points with a record of 11-5-2. However, with some up and down games and inconsistency to beat up on bad teams, do the Bruins have what it takes to win the division and make a deep playoff run?
